About the event
Grab your lab coat and get ready to turn the kitchen into a science laboratory! In this hands-on STEM camp, students will explore the chemistry behind everyday ingredients and discover how science is at work in the foods we eat.
Throughout the week, campers will conduct safe, guided experiments using common kitchen materials while investigating chemical reactions, mixtures, states of matter, acids and bases, and physical versus chemical changes. From bubbling reactions and foamy creations to colorful experiments and surprising discoveries, students will observe, predict, test, and analyze results like real scientists.
Campers will also explore the artistic side of science by creating colorful reaction art, observing patterns and textures, and recording discoveries through sketches and science journals. They’ll listen for fizzing, popping, and bubbling reactions while learning how scientists use all their senses to make observations.
Through hands-on experiments and creative exploration, students will strengthen critical thinking, problem-solving, and…
