About the event
Teen Mystery Writing Workshop is a structured creative writing course designed for teens who enjoy storytelling, reading, and creative thinking. Through guided lessons and hands-on writing activities, students will learn how authors create suspenseful mystery stories while developing stronger writing, organization, and communication skills.
Throughout the course, students will explore foundational storytelling concepts including plot structure, character development, dialogue, pacing, setting, descriptive writing, and story organization. Special focus is placed on how mystery writers build suspense, plant clues, create tension, and guide readers through a story in a logical and engaging way.
Students will work step-by-step through the writing process as they develop their own original mystery story. Activities include brainstorming story ideas, building believable characters, outlining mystery plots, mapping clues, writing drafts, revising scenes, and strengthening overall story structure.
