Young Authors Studio: Creative Writing Workshop | Ages 7–11

Does your child love making up stories, filling notebooks with ideas, or getting completely lost in a good book? This camp is designed for kids who love to imagine, create, and tell stories.

Throughout the week, students will write and illustrate their own original short story from beginning to end. We'll read and discuss examples from great children's books, noticing what authors and illustrators do to make stories memorable, then use those same techniques in our own writing.

Students will learn how to:

• Create interesting characters

• Build settings readers can picture

• Organize a story with a beginning, middle, and end
