About the event
Calling all storytellers! In this creative writing workshop, students will step into the role of young authors as they learn how to build, write, and finish their very own original short story from start to finish.
Throughout the week, campers will explore foundational storytelling skills including character development, plot structure, setting creation, dialogue, sequencing, descriptive language, and story organization. Lessons are designed to strengthen writing skills while making storytelling fun, approachable, and engaging.
Students will participate in guided brainstorming activities, writing prompts, drafting sessions, editing practice, and group discussions that help them shape and refine their stories step-by-step. Instruction focuses on building strong writing habits while encouraging creativity, confidence, and self-expression.
In addition to writing, students may also create illustrations and simple book cover designs to bring their stories to life visually and enhance their final book presentation.
